New York – 6th March 2022. Over the past few days, many of us at Teads have been deeply saddened by the events happening in Ukraine. While we don’t have any offices in Ukraine, we are a worldwide business with our roots in Europe and many of our people have connections, friends and family in areas that are now at risk. We will be supporting these team members wherever we can.

Teads does not have any teams on the ground in Russia but we have had small business operations in the region, working with a few local publishers who have wished to reach the Russian public as well as a small number of Russian brands advertising through our platform. We have now, however, ceased operations with both these publishers and advertisers.

We want to help the humanitarian efforts where we can. Therefore, Teads is donating free media to the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) in order for them to spread important information, fundraising efforts and awareness about the situation in Ukraine, and surrounding areas that are also being affected. The donation of media will run predominantly within news environments, so that people reading about the war have an opportunity to act in the moment and support the IFRC and its National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Now, more than ever, news content and quality information needs to be funded. Teads has always held itself to the highest levels of brand safety, accordingly we have multiple layers of internal and 3rd party solutions in place to ensure adverts are not placed next to content that a brand considers unsafe, such as death or war. Given that quality journalism is of critical importance at this moment in time, we would encourage advertisers and their agencies to discuss any concerns before demonetizing news content.

From the thousands of Teads employees around the world, we send our heartfelt wishes to all those in Ukraine whose family, livelihood and lives are at risk.
